Boozy Book Fairs
Once every few months, we proudly partner with our favorite local brewery, Sandhills Brewing, to host an adult version of everyone's favorite school reading experience: the book fair! This fabulous event features fun, friends, and hand-selected titles, sometimes featuring a special theme. Keep your eyes on our social media for information about upcoming book fair events!
We hold Yoga Storytimes in cooperation with Wild Child Yoga roughly monthly, where kids can get their wiggles out while stretching with a story. Keep an eye on our social media for updated information about our upcoming Yoga Storytime events!
Interfaith Coffee Chat
On the first Saturday of every month, members of the community from all faith traditions are welcome to come to a coffee chat starting at 11:00 am. Grab a drink and talk faith and life and learn a little about each other in the process.
We feature numerous book clubs that meet on a monthly basis. Find a book club you'll love and get all club books for 10% off from Crow & Co.!
If your book club would like to meet at Crow & Co. or you would like to order book club books through us, please contact us!
Monster of the Month Book Club
Meeting on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm, this group focuses on horror and monster-centric books. We discuss monsters that cross genres, from horror to science fiction and fantasy, and we may even get into some real-world monsters (or cryptids?) from time to time. Join our Facebook group to keep up on this month's monster.
Hutch Creates Book Club
In partnership with the Hutchinson Art Center, this book club meets twice monthly: once for a "field trip" in the local area to practice our art and once at Crow & Co. for a "coffee chat" on the fourth Saturday of the month at 11 am to discuss books that have inspired our practice and to share our experience as artists. All skill levels and ages are welcome. ALL books on our recommended reading list are 10% off on meeting days!
Banned Books Club
Meeting on the third Saturday of every month at 5:30, the Banned Books Club reads and discusses one banned or challenged book from the American Library Association's list of frequently banned books each month.
LGBTQ+ Coffee Hour
This group meets monthly on the second Saturday of the month at 11 am for coffee and conversation about our experience as LGBTQ+ individuals and allies living in the area. We don't require a specific book to be read to attend the monthly meeting, but ALL LGBTQ+ books in the store are 10% off at the time of our discussion. If you'd like suggestions, you can also consult our recommended reading list on Bookshop.
Hutch in Harmony
Hutch in Harmony is a grassroots social justice group based in Hutchinson, Kansas. As a part of their outreach and attempts to foster intersectional discussion, they host a regular book club focused on books intended to build understanding and empathy among people of different groups and cultures. We meet bi-monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm to talk about the month's reading and about how it impacted how we experience the world.
Books and Brew
We're honored to work with our favorite local brewery, Sandhills Brewing, to celebrate the natural relationship with a great beer and a captivating story. Each month, we explore a different fiction or nonfiction book over a pint of Hutchinson's finest microbrew on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Sandhills Brewing (111 W 2nd Ave). Find your next favorite book and brew with us every month!
Whether you've been studying philosophy for decades or are just interested in learning more about the roots of philosophy, you're welcome to join us and explore the big thoughts that have driven civilization. We meet to talk philosophy at 11 every fourth Saturday morning. Join or follow our Facebook group to keep up on the books scheduled for each month's discussion.
In celebration of this beautiful region, we host a monthly book club on the second Saturday of each month with titles focused on the Great Plains. Titles cover current stories, ecology, natural history, poetry, and much more! We cover a nonfiction title with discussion at 4 pm and a fiction title at 5 pm.
